Serious posting… of stupid internet junk, that is! I’m back from a brief vacation and feeling as least 1/4 of my usual 1/2assness.

Pirates for Jesus! I heard that Jesus had a mean spinebuster, but had doubted it until now… but what authorities are higher than singing pirate puppets with a cameo by satan? If there were an “old testament Jesus” that’s pretty much how things might have gone down. Thx monkeysforhelping.

If Jesus is feeling pugilistic, then the folks behind evil rock quilts had better get ready for damnation.

To balance the scales, we’d probalby better bless somebody, and I think that somebody should be Danny Choo the dancing Shibuya stormtrooper. You can see more of Danny just enjoying the heck out of life in his youtube channel. Rock rock on you crazy geeks. Never change!

So there I was at a friend’s bday party, when a guy introduced himself as a bit of a geek. I immediately responded with the question “What kind of geek? Define your Phylum and Genus, sir.” If the bday girl had been drinking milk, at that point it probably would have shot right out of her nose… but that’s not as cool with beer. Anyhow, as we zero’d in on each other’s principle areas of geekiness, the peanut gallery made it increasingly obvious that there’s probably really only one kind of geek that matters… the kind most people try NOT to be. “I rolled a 6! I won the battle of Endor!”

Anyhow, on those rare occasions where someone manages to mix as many strains of geek possible into one world-ending ubergeek plague, I like to take note. Here, my friend, is someone drawing using tables in html. Tables that become an anime bunny girl. To a japanese glitch-pop song. The Triple Crown!!! That is one bigass table.

Also, Birds are Weird. This was sitting on my desk this morning and it’s going to be hard not peruse its dark secrets.

And that time is for me to break Lac’s consecutive posts! What do I have that’s so awesome that I have to break his posting? Well it’s nothing other that Superman being a Super Dickery. That’s back when comics meant something, and when Lois married and divorced Superman every 3rd hour of the day. That’s when Superman is not taking Lois Lane out into space and leaving her there to die. It’s a feel good moment for everyone!

What’s more hilarious than that is the new Halo 3 beta. Well apparently the crackdown link is still grey and people are freaking out. People skipped work and school for nothing! What do they do? Head over to bungie.net and complain about how the beta isn’t out/wanting to kill themselves (so emo).

Someone had to stop Lac posts from taking over the front page!

Nothing’s really making me laugh today. This week seems particularly lite on amusing strangeness, which is what we usually try to cover around here. So here are some oddities to tide you over until I feel less serious.

Fear the might gravity wave! I’ve seen clouds do the weirdest contortions during drives over the flatter parts of the midwest. The first time I saw a dust-devil funnel touch down in front of my car I was amazed that everyone just drove right through it… I was ready to lie down in a ditch and find religion.

The Nice Guy Paradox. I can attest that following the “nice guy” approach with the ladies guarantees you lame-duck, also ran status. Tactically is the weakest of sauces. Now that we’ve all got PHDs in what doesn’t work, somebody give us a plan B that works short of becoming some kind of megalomaniac Marlboro Man.

Eye smiling vs. Mouth smiling. I KNEW there had to be a good reason behind the Korean/Japanese emoticons that I can’t figure out worth a damn. I can’t think that there might be more to it, though. For example, in Japan you read from right to left rather than from left to right… so an english speaking native might look at this Hokusai painting and focus on the wave first, whereas the Japanese would more likely spot mount Fuji first. The feel of the painting changes dramatically as a result.

I usually try to tie links together, but for the life of me I can’t figure out a way to pull it off today. So without further ado…

The movie trailer for the movie “Black Sheep” is atrociously amazing. I dub this movie “Sheeps on a Plain.” WE GOT MF’N SHEEPS ON THIS MF’N PLAIN! Not since “Bats” have I seen an animal horror flick this ambitious.

Secondly, if you ever catch yourself saying that you’re not a nerd, and you have evidence outlined to prove it, you’ve probably already proven that you ARE a nerd. Embrace it. Like these folks and their “full action fighting” site Battle of the Gods. I am such a geek that I rarely get to pick on other sub-geeks, so thank god for LARP’rs!
