I’m probably late to this party, but I find Cosby Bebop pretty damn hilarious. A simpsons Cosby skit combined with an anime intro, transformed into a animated gif? We may have a new triple-crown dork champion here. Shine on, internet.
Anyhow, I found that on Japanator, which is also covering the new anime season. I’m a little sad that the titles aren’t more ridiculously japanglish, although I’m sure I’ll be watching ZOMBIE-LOAN religiously (whatever it is).
If that’s not enough japanocentric pop spazdom, melt your brain on F. O. E.! I’d avoided posting this a few times but it haunts me everywhere. I could explain why this exists but I think I’d die of pure shame.
New Gundam Show! Screw Neon Genesis, I like my angsty robot teen warrior with a bit more pop flair. Plus, in Gundam Wing that one kid threatened to kill a girl that invited him to her birthday party. At that anime age, I think it means he likes her despite her cooties.
As long as I’m being a pop japanophile spaz, I fully agree with tvinjapan’s hyping of this video by the double+ awesomely named band Plus-Tech Squeeze Box. It’s like Shibuya-kei on crack. Good stuff!
Also on point is Japanator with this great clip of the girl from the Polysics videos showing a motley crew of tv show celebs how to pull of her moves. Hard Gay is hilarious as always… he and Matsumoto put a lot of our comics to shame.
Today started off sucking without reservation, but a little bit of sun and a good kefta sangwich have sorted me right out. Bring on the afternoon!
A touchpad nintendo DS game of the anime/manga Nodame Cantabile? Yes please! It looks like you step in for orchestra S by stabbing notes on the screen, thereby earning the affection or disgust of Chiaki-sama. Mukyu! The DS is rapidly on the way to my favorite platform of all time. Don’t even get me started about Puzzle Questing, and the new Phoenix Wright released at #1 in Japan.
Also, I would like to second Dinosaur Comics when they point out that fruits are insane. Right after I add them to the sidebar, I am going to put out an order for new business cards with “impressed by fruit” emblazoned on them, because that is so true. “It’s funny, because it’s true.” This comic and xkcd are the smarterest things running right now.
My flights to and from Portland were actually largely enjoyable thanks to my good thinking in sticking The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya on my laptop. Anime has been taking a dive lately, but this show really helped to salvage last year.
Anyhow, the show had jumped back into my mind after having the following alarmist dark future story from the Guardian forwarded to me. I was nodding my head gravely thinking about all the horrible ways we’re about to be obliterated until I got to the part about terrorist flashmobs. Last I heard, terrorists ALREADY use cell phones…
Flashmobs are likely to be an hilariously awesome at best and and annoying pranks at worst. Representing the “best” category are these japanese cosplay fans meeting up to enact the closing dance from Haruhi. That girl in the front bugged out so fast when the cops came that I think she’s a real cyborg combat-maid from another dimension. Here’s another vid where they finish before the whistles hit. VIVA LA DANCING!
Intrigued by Haruhi? You can (and should) buy the dvds soon, but in the meantime enjoy this great AMV of the song “Candy Pop” put together by the talented koopiskeva (who also did the amazing RahXephon / Euphoria AMV). The show is far weirder than this, but it’s a great editing job.
All of this comes to you courtesy of the great destructoid sister site, Japanator. Danke! That’s right… two dance posts in one day SOMEONE STOP ME!!!
I’m on vacation for a week and not online much, but I stumbled on this hilarious alternate intro for all you narutards out there. The drawings in this are seriously great, but I think it’s even funnier that a few of them resemble actual stills from the hack korean studio episode of the anime itself. They may even be of higher quality, now that I think about it…
edit: omg, there is another version before this one. I’m not sure where these all came from, but the first youtube page seems to credit these fanstrips.
Very funny, but I’m not sure it’s enough to topple my #1 bit of narutardedness: ninjas of the night!
It gets boring crediting sites in the posts, so I’m going to start putting sites I commonly find material on in the categories as full urls. Makes it less awkward while still steering people to the right places if they like what they see. Until next week…
A while back, kotaku pointed out the battle between the games ”The Idolmaster” (manage girly pop-models) and the new “Gundam” (pilot giant ass-kicking robots) entry into the popular Musou series. I jokingly mentioned in the comments there that the two should be combined. And it was… say hello to Idolmaster Xenoglassia. Amen.
Here’s my comment from kotaku for posterity: “I’d love to see these two games combined. Instead of angsty boy-soldiers piloting the gundams you stick a bunch of perky idols in the cockpits. Every time there’s some kind of beam-sword lockup, the pilots jump out, launching you into deadly dance-off. All the cannon-fodder gundams in the background would ape your moves like a Michael Jackson video. I’d buy it in a heartbeat for tens of dollars!”
Granted, it’s an anime, not a game (yet). Next stop, Witch Trading simulators! Too bad my skills for prediction don’t apply to anything practical.
edit: Kotaku picked this up too, they’ve got a few trailer links. The first episode appears to be out and it looks like Mai Otome. I doubt I’d give it my recommendation, but I still find the concept endlessly amusing.
I vowed to myself never to talk politics here, but in light of all the shinnanegans that are already surrounding this election, I am glad that someone managed to inject a little humor into my day. And that person… is Jimmy Jones! For pre-school class prez! Don’t vote for that loser Billy. Seldom has something made me laugh and cry at the same time.
If that’s not enough to give you a little lift, I recommend watching this. This kid is going to go far (I sincerely believe it).
While I’m talking about lil’ folk, I feel compelled to mention the hilarious new anime “Kateikyoushi Hitman Reborn.” The basic plot is that a mafia hitman has been dispatched to turn a young loser into the next big mafia don. Only the hitman is a baby. A suave magical baby. What’s his power? If he kills you and you have a dying wish, you’re resurrected with 5 mins to carry it out. Otherwise you just die. The main character is killed twice in the first episode to hilarious effect. Seriously folks, this could be the best show since “beat to death angel dokuro.” Don’t sleep!
*edit* oh snap! I forgot my obligatory monkeysforhelping link! I bring you… the best fight ever! I want that music to play every time I try to do something awesome and fail dramatically.
I haven’t been posting because everytime I open my eyes, I get a call from work. No time to surf the interweb to find the funny stuff for you guys! Although I do have something that just pure Awesomeness! What’s that? Well it’s none other than Riff Trax. What’s Riff Trax? Well it’s from the crew of Mystery Science Theater 3000, and they do the same thing but with newer movies. I had the pleasure of listening to the X-men track and it was pure gold. I now have the Star Trek V one, and hopefully my collection grows. For $2.99 seems like I’m stealing from them.
Just to see something about crazy soccer videos, here you go!. I have no idea what happen to that guy, he just went crazy after getting hit once. It’s a good laugh though, and I know I’m going to the hot place after my life is up! Also 2 new Yu-gi-oh dubs have been out since I last posted. GO NOW!
This may be the best post I have ever wrote. You might be reading this 200 years in the future just because this post is so damn good. I don’t know why we will keep this page going after this post. Everything will just be a waste of time and come no where near this one. What am I babbling about? Well…
First up I have a video of Uwe Boll vs. Richard “Lowtax” Kyanka of Something Awful fame. As you see Uwe Boll continues to be an ass and make bad movies (This is all for Postal). After the fight Lowtax gave an interview telling the world how much of an ass Uwe Boll was in all of this. How did Lowtax keep his humour when he kept getting pummel in the head?
Next may be the best page for any Simpsons fan old or new. I present All Simpsons episodes ONLINE! How can you beat that? YOU CAN’T! Just to make this better… ALL FUTURERAMA episodes too! I must be insane giving away all these links for free! But what’s this? There’s more?! Yes there is! By clicking on those 2 links, I’ll give you every single episode of… South Park! That’s right folks, you also get those crazy kids and their fun!
Apparently my lawyers don’t want me to give away those awesome links!
To make up for the lawyers and all the legal crap, I present you 28 Days Slater. It’s about Mario Lopez who changes back to A.C Slater every February. Why does he do this? Because he has a chip in his head! There is a total of 5 episodes and they all kick ass. Not once has A.C Slater lost a match to any preppies!
